17 year-old unseeded melanie oudin (she's from georgia, of all places!) just defeated the number 4 seed, elena dementieva. that's outrageous!
in men's singles, university of kentucky grad jesse witten won his second round match against some spanish dude, after beating the 29 seed earlier this week. looks like this us open is shaping up well for the americans all around!
