raquel welch is an american hero. this is from the movie based on the book by gore vidal. except gore vidal said it he had never seen it and wouldnt watch it because it was the worst movie ever made. oh well. i LOVED it.

RIP Gore Vidal

Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you probably read yesterday that acclaimed author Gore Vidal died Tuesday.

Gore Vidal has been one of my favorite authors ever since I read City and the Pillar in college. When I was studying abroad I found an English language bookstore and started reading everything of his I could get my hands on.

Do yourself a favor and go pick up Julian or Lincoln and enjoy the finest work of one of America's greatest authors. More here.

daniel day lewis is GAY

just kidding. he did just sign on to play abraham lincoln in a movie though, and everyone knows honest abe was dishonest about one thing: GAY! (not) kidding. the movie will come out of the closet in two years. ill be on pins and needles until then.

if you want to read a really awesome narrative fiction about president lincoln, i recommend gore vidal's Lincoln. read it!

dinner party

have you ever thought about what your answer would be to that old question about what famous people living or dead you would invite to your dinner party?

so far, ive got three people on my list: carrie fisher, gore vidal, and kismet with the ability to speak. any other ideas?
