GD racist-ass liberal media
the commie loving new york times is spreading scandalous lies about dreamy cam newton, in a transparent effort to curtail his chances of winning the heisman. they claim kenny rogers (i'm sure that's the chicken guy) was shopping cam around to different universities for 180,000 dollars, and that urban meyers leak information to the press about his alleged academic misconducts at the university of florida. in reality, newton left florida not because he was caught cheating, but because flamboyant christian tim tebow was going to overshadow him with all of his flashy abortion commercials. it's a pack of lies, i tell ya'.
cam is brushing off all the vicious lies saying, "I’m not going to let any of this be a distraction to this team...and I look forward to the rest of the season.” that's right! WE'RE NUMBER TWO!!! WAR EAGLE!!!

live-blogging history.
did you know the civil war was getting going right about now, 150 years ago? crazy, i know. the new york times has created a blog called DISUNION, which outlines the events of each day starting at the end of october (a week before lincoln is elected), as its sesquicentennial (you're welcome) falls.
DISUNION
One-hundred-and-fifty years ago, Americans went to war with themselves. Disunion revisits and reconsiders America's most perilous period -- using contemporary accounts, diaries, images and historical assessments to follow the Civil War as it unfolded.i think this a really amazing idea, and have added it to our blogroll so you never forget.

i was just catching up on my this american life, and heard this story about a cop in a bed-stuy precinct of the NYPD mounting a case to expose some minor corruption involving illegal quota systems and whatnot. it gets real real.
(starts about 15 minutes in)
his story was then published in a 5-part series in the village voice. check it out!
