i've got my goop-gobbled about this...so settle in while i rant for a sec:
i'm a little perplexed about why this hasn't been a B F-ing D all over the news this week. why did bobby jindal wait until yesterday to issue a state of emergency? half the people to whom i've mentioned this don't even know what i'm talking about. i mean, remember how no one could shut up about that mine explosion in west virginia? well, eleven people died in this explosion, and now there's also a buttload of crude oil creepin' on our precious beaches! y'all remember the exxon valdez, right? that was in alaska, where no one even liked to swim! and that's not even to mention the implications of obama's recently announced decision to open more coastal areas to offshore drilling.
this morning on npr, they spent about 2 minutes covering the oil disaster, and 10 talking about the decline of the off-track betting industry. i feel like the the news coverage is starting to become more proportionate to the significance of this event, but only now that the oil has arrived on land. i don't know, JUST SAYIN'!
n-e-wayz, i just hope nobody planned any vacays to gulf shores. it's gonna be a long summer down there. ;(

Well I'm glad SOMEONE is all gobbled up about this. I just read the NPR article about the whole ordeal, and it is sad and terrifying.
Hehe...Tommy is going down to the beach this weekend. Hope he doesn't like swimming.
