big mistake, scientist.

these ballsy scientists have the nerve to speculate that maybe the rarely encountered colossal squid isn't as agile and terrifying as modern depictions might suggest:

The colossal squid, a creature once linked to maritime myth and feared as a sea monster, is really a slow drifting animal that ambushes unwitting prey.

That conclusion was reached by studying the physiology and feeding habits of other deep sea species and scaling up to the colossal squid's huge size. (via)

well, i'd speculate that that scientist will be singing a different tune when he's being sawed in half by a colossal squid beak. what's that, scientist? you never saw it coming? that's right. look where all those physiology studies got you. up shit's creak and in a squid's mouth.
