today is the first day of the senate confirmation hearings for supreme court nominee sonia sotomayor. her mom was there, and she is super-cute. there was also some crazed anti-choicer hollerin' about abortion while senator dianne feinstein was trying to TALK. he got arrested, don't worry.

ALSO, barack has picked us out a brand new surgeon general. her name is dr. regina benjamin, and she's from alabama!
