First, watch this.


Don't get me wrong. I like Coldplay as much as the next guy (way more than the next guy), but it seems to me that somebody stumbled around youtube for a while and cobbled this video together. here are what i see as the points of reference,

Blu. This Italian artist combines whimsy, stop-motion photography and abandoned or neglected buildings to create film candy. this video also shows that you don't have to cover-up the extant graffiti before you shoot.the coldplay building looks weirdly sterilized.



Kinetic Typography of Stephen Fry. Kinetic Typography is everyones favorite thing. Daft punk has like thousands of these videos made by students for their production classes.




Her Morning Elegance, Oren Lavie. This video took the blogosphere by storm. very pleasant.



also if you are going to paint blast a building, don't do it post production. get the sand out and do it like Sony did.
