THE VOICE REPORT FINALE AND WINNER EDITION

i hope that you haven't tired of my voice reports. this is probably the first time i've watched a full season all the way to the end. and i worked late monday which means i watched all four hours of the last two episode in succession last night. so i am going to hit you with all my favorites in a row, and there's a bunch, so buckle up.

jicyww, the first of two finale episodes included each finalist doing a traditional performance of a song selected by the coach, one duet with the coach, and one original songwriter-written song picked by the coach (matt wrote his own).


boyfriends chris jamison and adam levine do robin thicke's maybe-best-song "lost without u".


here's what damien as an actual solo artist might look like, singing a max martin-penned original song "soldier". boring.

we were also treated to chris jamison doing some timberlake.

on to the second part of the finale, which was an amazing collection of guest performances, some including contestants. there was so much to see here.

you may have noticed that nowhere in this post was craig wayne boyd mentioned. despite my complete lack of interest in his brand of musicianship, he won the voice. so WHATEVER. #teamelyjuh

i did love his "bring back" performance with fellow contestants danica, taylor brashears, and sugar joans. worth a watch.

here is your daily rihanna news round-up:

+ rihanna is supposedly in the running to star in the new bodyguard reboot. depending on who you listen to, beyonce, jennifer hudson, rihanna, taylor swift, and miley cyrus are all being considered. didn't i post about this like a year ago? who can remember! we should wait and see how battleship turns out before we rush to make ri ri rachel marron.

+ rihanna and ciara had a brief internet feud. ciara threw some shade ri ri's way on some e! news fashion show, and rihanna responded via twitter. she made some comment about how ciara basically doesnt have a career anymore, then they patched things up.

+ rihanna also took to twitter to ask her fans what her next single should be from LOUD. i think its time that "complicated" was given some attention.

+ congrats to ri ri for becoming only the fourth artist in history to amass over a billion youtube views. can you guess the other three?

night at the opera

me and my mom and dad went to dinner last night at itta bena, a cute little restaurant on top of BB Kings Blues Club on Beale Street. besides the delicious food, my favorite thing about the restaurant was that there was an entire wall covered in young Tina pictures. I felt right at home.

after finishing dinner we went to go see Faust at the Orpheum.  This is what it all looked like.
