i saw this, it was weird.

last night on jeopardy, one of the questions was a picture of rachel maddow, and no one knew who they were looking at.

did you know...

...that newt gingrich has a gay half-sister?

30 November 2011

not good enough.

the tennessee tea party's follow-up to their hate-speech:
The president of the Tennessee Tea Party apologized for a tweet someone in his group sent out calling Barney Frank a “perverted sodomite,” though she added a caveat: “While privately and inwardly I may agree with the commentary, it is completely irresponsible for any one of us to write these kinds of commentaries.” (via)
still totally gross.

to balance out the internet, i've included rachel maddow's segment from last night, dedicated to highlighting barney frank's many accomplishments while in office. stay classy, tennessee.

a recent survey conducted with members armed forces indicates that on an individual level, most troops think serving with gays is nbd. the study is set to be announced in december (conveniently post-election, i might add), but the results were leaked to this guy, who chose to share them with rachel maddow.

love you rachel maddow

did you hear the one about the former congressman from arizona who said that allowing gay marriage paves the way for marriage between a man and a horse? i know, it sounds ridiculous. unfortunately, there are lots of people out there who listen to that kind of bullshit and believe it. thankfully rachel maddow is also out there to set things straight (or gay).

Rachel Maddow Quote

"It's time for Democrats to choose a path forward: either quit, and let the party with 41 votes control the agenda. Or fight, with 59 votes, and give people a reason to vote for you again."

owned.

Richard Cohen, an unlicensed psychotherapist who advocates a way for gay men and women to "come out as straight" and leave their lifestyle behind, made the mistake of going on Rachel Maddow's MSNBC show last night to defend himself. Maddow has been going after him of late for his links to a group in Uganda that is trying to pass a bill against gay citizens that would include a death penalty for "serial offenders." The group uses Cohen's book Coming Out Straight as a basis for their belief. (They're also linked by Maddow to the influential conservative Christian group the Family.) In this seventeen-minute clip, Maddow pretty much makes mincemeat of the guy on several levels — most prominently, the level where Cohen is not accredited by any agency in any state or country. rachel really gets goin' around 6:00.

funny news.

rachel walks us through a ridiculously complex chart for the plan in afghanistan, created by the joint chiefs of staff. i can't believe this is real. yes i can.

americans for prosperity hate america

this news is a bit old...but omg. did y'all hear about americans for prosperity?! they were having a conference when it was announced that chicago aka america had lost the bid for the 2016 olympics, and the whole room broke out in smiles, cheers, and applause.

well, someone video taped it and gave it to the press and now everyone knows about it. that is so embearassing for them.

i don't believe you believe it

rachel maddow and pat buchanan got into it the other day about sonia sotomayor and affirmative action. he basically calls sotomayor stupid and bad for the country and says that he believes the reason 99.5% of the supreme court has historically been white males is the same reason that the olympic track team is mostly black... theyre just better at it. gulp. i wonder what sarah palin thinks. dont worry, the liberal lesbian lets him have it.
