these levi's "go forth" adverts have been floating around for a couple months. they each feature walt whitman poems (one, an actual recording of him reading the first four lines of his poem america). they get you all emotional about denim and bein' an amurican, and i think they would make don draper proud. i'm just glad someone finally found a use for these silly stupid poems.

2pz reader and sister melissa alerted me to the newest american girl doll. you will remember that we now get the american girl newsletter thanks to samantha's recent hospital visit. well, the only interesting thing about the usually wholesome american girl doll is that according to her backstory (which you can read in paperback), Gwen's father left her, her mother lost her job, and now they are living in a car. homeless. really american girl? really?
