YAS BEST BEACH IN USA

Come visit me at America's Best Beach!

“Powder white sand so soft and so white — almost 100 percent pure quartz crystal! Water is emerald green, clean and clear,” Stephen “Dr. Beach” Leatherman wrote of his No. 1 pick. “Very safe beach that is hundreds of yards wide, perfect for families.”

a professional graphic designer says that tennessee's logo is the best logo in the whole world SEC!
The Volunteers’ power T is probably the best logo in the SEC for one reason: it’s so recognizable. The unique style of the T is unlike any other and who can forget that bright orange?

westminster dog show is happening

the first half of the groups showed last night, here are the results:

in the hound group, 15-inch beagle miss p upset the crowd favorite and last year's best in show runner-up, nathan the bloodhound, who is famous for licking judges. #nathannation that being said, miss p is an adorable and hungry champion and if anyone has a problem with her they can take it up with ME.

meanwhile, a very privileged shih tzu won the toy group. her name is rocket, and she belongs to patty hearst, of the newspaper hearsts.

in the non-sporting group (shade), they gave the award to a thirsty standard poodle named FLAME!

and finally, the herding group, which includes not one, but two different kinds a corgis to pick from, was won by a dang sheepdog. his name is swagger and i think he must be cheating.

tonight, we get the remaining groups: sporting, working, and (god loves a) terrier, followed by BEST IN SHOW!!!!

"don't look at those other losers, look at ME."

18 August 2014

13 days!

the vols hosted an open practice session in neyland stadium on saturday, and 40,000 fans showed up!
i don't know what that person's talking about, i've never heard anyone say a bad word about a vol fan in all my life.

in related news, the AP preseason rankings were released over the weekend, and there are some compelling statistics regarding #SECdominance. 8 of 14 SEC teams are in the top 25, and tennessee has to play six top-25 teams in our 12-game season. kinda makes me just wanna lay down.

here's a summary including only the teams you might care about:
1 florida state (whom?)
2 alabama (never heard of her)
4 oklahoma (the vols face them on #10AICC day, gulp.)
6 auburn
9 south carolina
12 georgia (that shouldn't last long)
13 LS-poo
18 ole piss
21 texas a&m
24 misery
noticeably / inexplicably absent from the list are the tennessee volunteers. #brickbybrick #risetothetop #2015nationalchampions

07 February 2014

every season is football season.

our 2pz sports commentator bun-bun is about to get his ass laid. off. there has been a veritable FONT of great news coming out of knoxville this week, and you haven't heard a peep. let's get started.

this shouldnt surprise anyone, but at the end of national signing day, butch jones and his recruiting team put together the FIFTH-RANKED recruiting class in the nation. to answer your question: yes, that's better than georgia's.
Butch Jones came out swinging, landing a ridiculous 33 new players in his first full class as head coach of the Volunteers. It includes a massive upgrade at the skill positions, including borderline five-star running back Jalen Hurd, four-star back Derrell Scott, four-star receivers Josh Malone and Von Pearson, and four-star tight end Daniel Helm.
The Vols also got signatures from a U.S. Army All-American in safety Todd Kelly, a ready-to-play offensive tackle in JuCo transfer Dontavius Blair, and six four-star recruits for the defensive front seven. (via)
read how it all came together HERE. (thx dan!)

one should also note that a fifth-ranked class is only third-ranked in the SEC, and that 7 of the top 10 recruiting classes were from the SEC, and that all 14 SEC teams made it into the top 50.

one of the highlights of signing day was the berry twins. jicydak, the younger twin brothers of 2Pz all-time favorite vol eric berry verbally committed to tennessee when they were just 14 years old. playing together for their high school team, they won a (georgia) state championship last year.

read how cute and well-liked they are HERE.

here's a video of a 5-star recruit telling the story of how coach butch jones convinced him to keep his talents in tennessee.

and finally, here's a photo of one of our 2014 recruits, d'andre payne, literally jumping for joy as he enters neyland for the first time as a vol. *single tear*
d'andre, i notice you're wearing modesty harvesty's number, and i like your spirit so far.

#BRICKBYBRICK

oh and i nearly forgot:
The Nashville Sports Council and the University of Tennessee announced today that the Tennessee Volunteers will open their 2015 football season at LP Field in Nashville. The Volunteers will take on the UAB Blazers on Saturday, September 5, 2015. (via)
is it september yet?

20 December 2013

remember?

if you loved six feet under, you should read this nymag piece detailing the inception of the series' final scene.
On August 21, 2005, the HBO drama Six Feet Under concluded with a seven-minute montage of flash-forwards revealing how each of the remaining main characters die. The episode, “Everyone’s Waiting,” was immediately hailed as the most satisfying TV ending ever, something the show’s creator, Alan Ball, still hears all the time. “People say they love it, that it was incredibly moving, that they watched it over and over,” he tells Vulture. “All those things.” As part of our micro oral history week, Ball and the scene’s other key players look back at the finale and discuss the Sia song, the process of aging the actors, and grappling with the meaning of life and death. (via)
will i spend my nine work-free days of christmas re-watching this show for the 4th time? maybe. maybe.

17 September 2013

according to espn magazine the memphis grizzlies are the best franchise in all of professional sports

The rankings are based on eight categories, including fan feedback, which determines the best franchises for fans; bang-for-the-buck category, which tabulates wins during the past three years (regular season and postseason) per revenue directly from fans and affordability, which accounts for the price of tickets, parking and concessions. Other criteria include championships won or expected in the lifetime of current fans, stadium experience, fan relations, players, coaching, and ownership.
