who wants a gemini chair?!

i know i do.
Part of UNStudio's Gemini collection for Dutch brand Artifort, the asymmetric chair was designed to let sitters "sit up, slouch, lounge, hang, repose or hunker", as well as to "shift, twist, turn, swing around, pivot to face each other or turn towards the room." (via)

it's hunkerin' time!

gather up your loved ones and head for the hills.

While the forecast is still subject to change, the current indication is that while New England will bear the brunt of the storm’s severity — with more than two feet of snow and blizzardlike conditions – New York City and the surrounding area are also in for a significant hit.
By the time the storm has passed through, sometime on Saturday, forecasters predict the storm will have dumped as much as a foot of snow in the area, while delivering blistering winds reaching 50 m.p.h., and flooding coastal areas.

HUNKER DOWN TENNESSEE!

it's 81 degrees in the boro today....and there are 'naders on the way.
Storms will develop later Friday in central Tennessee, packing a "high risk for tornadoes, along with a very high risk for wind, hail and localized flooding," according to WSMV.
"There's a high potential for a couple of tornadoes to not only touchdown but stay on the ground once they touchdown in Middle Tennessee," said 4WARN Meteorologist Paul Heggen. (via)

hunder down y'all

"The five boroughs will likely see thunderstorms by mid-afternoon that could drench the area in up to an inch of rain in under one hour. Tornadoes are possible during those storms ... but the most likely severe weather side effects will be damaging winds and large hail." Sounds like one of those storms in which your umbrella always breaks.

09 February 2010

y'all better hunker!

23 April 2009

everybody hunker down.

here's a cute editorial about a recent trend in staying the f put:

"The number of people who changed residences declined to 35.2 million from March 2007 to March 2008, the lowest number since 1962, when the nation had 120 million fewer people." Perfectly understandable. I just moved, and do you know that movers want literally hundreds of dollars to move your stuff down one flight of stairs, and later, up another flight of stairs? I mean, everybody in New York is moving, because apartment prices are going down about a hundred bucks a month per month. But elsewhere, yea: just huddle up where you are. Moving expends energy, which requires calories to replace it, which ups your grocery bill. Stay still. (gawker)

thx g.
