DOUBLE TORNADO

these two tornados scissored all over nebraska yesterday.

A storm in Nebraska produced an extremely rare pair of tornadoes this evening as it tracked through the northeastern part of the state. Multiple vortices are common in the strongest tornadoes (think Joplin), but two large, distinct tornadoes side-by-side like this is almost unprecedented. (via)

More than 1,000 homes in the town of Washington, Illinois, were destroyed this week when a massive F4 tornado ripped through the area. Marc Wells owns one of those homes and filmed the tornado bearing down on his house, creating a record of what it was like to be inside the structure as the storm demolished it.

Wells's camera goes dark at around 22 seconds in with his house intact, but you can still hear the wind raging outside. At about 1:12 in the video, Wells and his daughter emerge from their hiding place and find the entire place wrecked. (via)

Toot's, the home of good food and fun, is closed due to severe storm damages.

The Broad Street location lost half its roof, causing floor and structural damage after it rained into the building throughout the early morning.

There is no estimate on when the restaurant will be up and running again, but cleaning and repairs are underway.

The Toot's staff did say the business will still cater the Boys & Girls Club Steak & Burger dinner Thursday evening, and the Toot's South location on South Church Street remains open and unaffected. (via)

im very sorry for what i did

yesterday during the inclement weather in nashville melissa asked her roommate to move isabella inside and shut her in the bedroom so she wouldnt get dorothy'd by a tornado. when melissa finally made it home to cuddle and play with izzy, she found that the pup had left a poop for her next to the door. not only was there a poop, but izzy had stolen a square of toilet paper that melissa had used to wipe off makeup out of the trash bin and placed it on top of the poop. because she was still afraid she hadnt cleaned up enough, izzy had also grabbed one sock out of a tennis shoe in the closet and put that on top of the toilet paper poop pile. poor thing didnt have the thumbs necessary to take care of the job.
