Ole Miss confirms its conservative (racist) bonifides

Two people were arrested after more than 400 gathered on the University of Mississippi campus chanting political slogans and racial slurs during a protest of the results of Tuesday's presidential election. 

Ole Miss officials said in a statement released Wednesday that shortly before midnight after messages were sent out on Twitter that students gathered near the student union on the campus in Oxford. 

The crowd of 400 was dispersed by university police, but about 25 minutes later, another crowd of about 100 gathered in front of one of the campus dorms. 

“While we are grateful that there were no injuries and there was no property damage, we are very disappointed in those students who took a very immature and uncivil approach to expressing their views about the election,” said University of Mississippi Chancellor Dan Jones in a news release. “The gathering seems to have been fueled by social media, and the conversation should have stayed there.”

What's a Moc?

In the comments of my post about Chattanooga being a nice place to visit, friend of the blog Melissa mistakenly asserted that my label should read "go MOCKINGBIRDS" instead of the customary "go vols." First of all, don't tell me what to do. Second of all,  I didn't know there were UT's anywhere besides knoxville and i would assume that they were Vols too... or at least Smokeys. It turns out she was telling the truth and that they are Mockingbirds!

In my research, I cam across this photo. I like Memphis basketball (go tigers go) but this D has taken it TOO FAR. You can't drag a smokey through the streets. I think it's against the law. If not, it ought to be, and at the very least it's declasse. for SHAME!

TEHRAN, Iran -- Iran objects to the logo for the 2012 London Olympics, contending it is racist because it resembles the word "Zion" and warning of a possible boycott of the Games.

They are urging other Muslim states to oppose the "racist logo."

I don't like the logo because it's ugly, but since you all know how much I like to incite hatred (being a conservative and all), I think I'll start liking it.

some people on the internet think that this promotional film for proenza schouler is racist because of its portrayal of "black stereotypes." i am not one of the people that think this. i think that this little film by the guy that made gummo shows poverty, and recontextualizes these girls that live in poverty to show their beauty and power. nothing racist about that.
