chipotle gold foil : 1MAR - 30JUN

The burritos are going to be wrapped in gold foil! There are going to be a bunch of new billboards and radio ads! And they're printing an in-house newspaper called — we're not kidding — The Gold Burrito Digest. Which is certainly an ... um ... evocative name for a marketing pamphlet at a fast-food restaurant.

chipotle is celebrating themselves, and they deserve it. via.

what a delicious way to go.

A 22-year-old tortilla factory worker in Brooklyn was fatally injured in a freakish accident early Monday when he fell into a dough-mixing machine, the police said. The man, whose name was not immediately released, was working at Tortilleria Chinantla at 975 Grand Street in East Williamsburg around 2:30 a.m. when he fell into the waist-high tub of the mixer and was pinned by the metal blade, which is not sharp but is powered by a strong motor, the police said. The half-dozen other workers were unable to save him. No criminality is suspected. (via)

I blame Australia

Last time I was locked in the hospital, I had to watch Titans games online, and to do so I streamed from an Australian Channel. They had a product that I found amusing, disgusting, and delicious looking at the same time. Well, don't fret my fellow Americans. We are just over 4 days away from that product (or something similar to it) being available on this side of the world. Introducing the KFC Double Down.

The gambling reference is a little 2005, but I'll still roll the dice on that heart attack.

What's for lunch?

A Turkey "Cubano" (Rye Bread, Yellow Mustard, American Cheese, Sliced Dill Pickle, Roasted Turkey), Kettle-Cooked Salt and Pep Krink-Kut chips, and a Ginger Beer!

11 Biscuits!

20 January 2010

it's settled.

these will be served at the first rooftop party of 2010. grillmaster DJV is going to get started practicing.

If you are picturing a meager burger topped with a clump of yellow mac and cheese, it's time to think just a little bit bigger... Sure, it all starts innocently enough—a mix of cheddar, American, pecorino and Gruyère cheeses with ground Hereford beef—but don't be deceived: this little devil is packing something extra. That something: macaroni, cooked, salted and packed inside the burger before it hits the grill, so by the time it starts to cook, the cheese, beef and macaroni become one charred, melted, buttery unit of deliciousness.

And to top things off, you'll notice a few homemade Gruyère bread crumbs and a generous ladling of homemade cheese sauce on the patty. (via)

if you want a professionally made one, you can get it at the burger shoppe on water street in the financial district. just like most meals that probably shouldn't have mac-n-cheese involved, it's not on the menu. but just ASK them!

thx john!

Y.M.N.K.T. but Kylie, G. Animals, and 2pz friend Liz came to visit me in Boston this weekend. Here is what we ate!

For Breakfast:

Everything! Pancakes, Bacon, Scrambles, Bagels with CC, Grapefruit, OJ, Milk, and a Box Of Coffee! Made in my kitchen

For Lunch:

We went to one of the oldest Pubs in Boston it's called The Green Dragon. It was supposed to be a snack but the portions were pretty huge i give it 8 biscuits. We were being meanmugged by a couple of bean bags, and our waitress wasn't fantastic but the food was pretty good.

G. Animals: Veggie Quesadilla, Side of Veggies (natch) and a hot toddie.

Liz: Revolutionary Buffalo Chicken, and a Magners Cider

DJV: Nachos (natcho!) and a Magners. They went a little overboard on the onions. but otherwise pretty good.

LATE NIGHT!

After hours of dancing in the clerb, we went to Hi-Fi Pizza in Central Square. always 11 Biscuits

Liz: Pepz
Kylie: Plain
G. Animals: Mushrooms (natch)
