LIFE IS NOT FAIR!!!!1111
Mondays are always full of injury news, but most of them aren’t as serious as what Chiefs safety Eric Berry may be facing.
The Chiefs are putting Berry on the non-football illness list, which ends his season. There may be bigger issues for Berry to deal with in the immediate future, however.
Chiefs trainer Rick Burkholder announced, via Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star, that Berry reported discomfort in his chest after the team’s game last week and doctors found a mass in the right side of his chest. Burkholder said that the “leading consideration” for what Berry has is lymphoma and that he’s heading to Atlanta for further evaluation. (via)read his statement here. if you need me, i'll be under my desk.

mail kimp
this story about the mailchimp ad that precedes each episode of serial (tomorrow!!) is acually not that uninteresting:
How collaborative was the process to create the ad between you and the Serial producers?
Pretty collaborative, actually. We gave them the copy for the ad, and then they made the ad itself. Dana Chivvis took the copy and went out in the streets of New York and recorded a bunch of different people reading the ad and then cut it together the way that she did.
That last part of the ad with the woman saying she actually uses MailChimp was unscripted, right?
As far as I know! [laughs] I mean, that was not in the copy. I was surprised as much as anyone else. It worked out really nicely, but we didn’t plan it that way.

Like the best lists, the chronological order of every fashion brand that Jay Z mentions in his lyrics tells a story. This story is now on a T-shirt, created by Katherine Bernard. the voice report
i hope its ok with you all if i don't go into too much detail this time. i'm still reeling from the loss of elyjuh. his absence was painful and palpable last night. i didn't like anyone's performance that much. anyone else's best performance would pale in comparison to elyjuh's worst. i'll try to move on soon, but for now:
there's this, wherein glasses shows off his screamy side.
this, wherein danica flawlessly if not boringly executes a jazzy radiohead cover.
and this, wherein chris sings everyone's new favorite nick jonas song, and bros out mid-performance with adam about how sexy and beautiful he is.
gawker recap here (wherein luke messes up real bad but pulls it off anyway).
'jealous' remix feat tinashe here (wherein she says her own name so now we know once-and-for-all).

A few years ago we shared photographer Richard Mosse‘s unique infrared imagery that he had shot in The Democratic Republic of Congo for his series Infra. Taking advantage of an old type of Kodak film called Aerochrome, he infused new color into this war-torn and often forgotten part of the Earth.
Now he’s taken that project a step further by creating a documentary film called The Enclave. Shot entirely on 16mm Aerochrome film, the footage reveals both the unseen infrared bouncing off of the vegetation, and this too-often unseen “ongoing humanitarian disaster.” (via)thx grace!

2pz fave Marlo Thomas is getting the nations highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom
The White House on Monday announced the names of 19 recipients getting the award, which is the nation’s highest civilian honor presented to “individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”
The awards will be presented during a ceremony at the White House Nov. 24.
From a White House biography of Thomas: She’s “an award-winning actress, producer, best-selling author and social activist. Whether championing equality for girls and women, giving voice to the less fortunate, breaking barriers by portraying one of television’s first single working women on 'That Girl,' or teaching children to be 'Free to Be You and Me,' Thomas inspires us all to dream bigger and reach higher.”
other award winners this year include some nobodies named Meryl Streep, Stevie Wonder, Tom Brokaw, etc. etc.

The Tennessee Volunteers added another brick to the foundation of their rebuilding process. 2015 Oakland High School (Murfreesboro, Tenn.,) commit Jack Jones signed his letter of intent to play for Tennessee, electing to enroll early this upcoming January.
The 6-food-4, 278-pound offensive tackle committed to Tennessee on May 9, 2013. Jones is a consensus 4-star prospect and ranks as the No. 2 player from the state of Tennessee, according to Rivals and ESPN. (via)
