anyone who reads ny magazine knows that the approval matrix is an excellent indicator of how in-the-loop one is. each week, they place a selection of water-cooler-esque topics along a matrix according to the subject's taste-level and cultural significance. when i received my issue this week, i was pleasantly surprised to see that this blog had covered a number of approval matrix topics, mostly on the 'brillant' side.
