Chiefs safety Eric Berry will miss the rest of the 2011 season after tearing his ACL in Kansas City's Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The NFL Network first reported news of Berry's season-ending injury.

Berry, selected fifth overall by the Chiefs in the 2010 draft, was named to the Pro Bowl in his rookie season after registering 92 tackles and four interceptions.

Without Berry, the Chiefs had trouble slowing down the Bills' attack and lost 41-7. (via)

His 34 completions were the sixth-most in school history and he extended his school-record and current SEC-best streak of consecutive games with at least two touchdown passes to eight.
