everybody excited for the return of THE CITY!?!!?
i know i am. here she is talking trash about smellivia palergross in a recent interview:
As revealed in the trailer, Olivia is not supporting your line — were you surprised? What is your relationship like with her?
I was not so surprised by that. Olivia and I have never really been the best of friends. You know, at the time, yes, I was a little bit hurt because it wouldn’t have really taken that much for her to interview me for elle.com, and as a "journalist" or whatever she is for the magazine, your opinion doesn't really matter. Your job is to interview someone and then report it, but she made it personal. I think that there's obviously some level of insecurity on her part, and she's showing it. I don't know that she knows that she's showing it, but it definitely comes through. It was a little bit hurtful, but Olivia's one of those people who doesn't care about anybody but herself. That's why it's not so surprising because she doesn't want to help anybody else out. She's only out for herself. So, if I expected something different from her, then maybe I would have been more hurt, but it's like the same old thing with her. (via)

walmart's at it again...
they're trying to open one in brooklyn! gmaB!
don't worry. the last couple times they tried to do this, the city's labor unions have shut them down. so it probs won't happen.
we (heart) ny mag
and i think they <3 us too....
when i saw this week's nymag cover, i thought to myself "ouch....poor fedex." when i was reading this article this morning, about the branding of sarah palin, i noticed a couple of notes on the images they've created.
on the cover:
The graphic reference to FedEx, a fine company we use all the time, is a visual shorthand for brand. It does not imply any connection to, or endorsement of, Sarah Palin. Just in case you were wondering.
on the title page:
Just in case you missed it on the cover:
The graphic reference to Ford, that excellent car company—as well as to the fine cheese of Kraft, delicious Pepsi beverages, Visa's very useful credit cards, and Chevron's powerful gasoline—on the following pages is a visual shorthand for brand. It does not imply any connection to, or endorsement of, Sarah Palin.
omg they talk just like us! i'll let 'em know that there are well established and recongized abbrevs they can start using, jictww.

tornado in new jersey!
just kidding. it's a funnel cloud, alright. but this one is just some sort of refinery in new jersey reverse-funneling toxins into our atmosphere. the clouds are pretty low this morning, and a different color than that pollution, so you could really see it just hanging out up there. isn't that appalling?
come on, new jersey. have some self-respect.

"you burned my feelings today"
this is just too priceless for words. kids say the darndest things, am i right?
One Saturday, John was in the basement watching the end of a football game when his 8-year-old daughter came down to ask when they’d be leaving for the beach. Just another 20 minutes or so, he told her.
“Eventually, the game ended and we went out,” John says. “But when I went to bed that night, I found this note sitting on my pillow. The tragedy of it all, combined with the warning — and offset by the pretty border and the flower — really make for a lovely package.”
