RIP

RIP Ted Kennedy. thanks for your commitment to public service.

remember passing notes?

you'd get a note from your friend in the hallway on your way to a class, then spend the majority of said class period writing back. you had your friends' class schedules memorized so you knew when you would pass whom in which hallway throughout the day, and you would prioritize your note-writing accordingly.

and remember how some people could fold up their notes to look like envelopes? gosh, jelly!

then there was in-class note passing. what a dangerous game that was! one time my biology teacher picked up a mean note my friend and i had been writing about her appearance. she began reading the note aloud smugly as if WE were the ones who were going to be emBEARassed. however, the joke was on her, and she was only burning herself.

riddled with guilt, i apologized the next day, but it was clear she was never going to forgive me. so, i switched to the other, better biology teacher. she let me bring my dog daisy in one day, and i invited daisy's doctor to talk about her health, and i got a 100 for my report on veterinary medicine as a branch of biological science.

just sayin'. times used to be better.

danish firm BIG has won a competition to design kazakhstan's national library. they beat out zaha and even "lord" norman foster. (via)

“The design of the National Library combines four universal archetypes across space and time into a new national symbol: the circle, the rotunda, the arch and the yurt are merged into the form of a Moebius strip. The clarity of the circle, the courtyard of the rotunda, the gateway of the arch and the soft silhouette of the yurt are combined to create a new national monument appearing local and universal, contemporary and timeless, unique and archetypal at the same time.”
- Bjarke Ingels, Founding Partner on the Astana National Library 2009

side note: this firm's website is hands-down my favorite on all the internet. and not because the url is big.dk. ctm.

re: this song

john: this Us song is playing in the locker room at my gym all the time
which i find weird
in that it accompanies the sight of 60 year old men blow drying their pubes
me: ctm
that is not a gym song
but that's an amazing visual
john: yeah
the whole time, i just keep thinking, this is not right
me: i hate regina spektor
im pretty sure
john: yeah
me: i can tolerate her
but if i listen closely
i just get so angry
john: she's a pretentious cunt
me: yes!
john: den of thieves?
why don't you just go bleed to death you stuck up bitch
me: paaaaaayaaayaaaaaygeeeyesss
john: uh ah uh ah

its britney bitch

well it happened. starla, rain dog, kris cris and i went to the britney spears circus last night. i took many more pictures than the one above, but they all look pretty much the same, so just enjoy that one.
britney looks real good ya'll. her body is back in top shape, and she shows it off in many different revealing costumes. she doesnt really overexert herself with singing or difficult dance routines, but she puts on a great show. there was a real life circus complete with ninjas, a legless trampoline dancer, some hula hoopers, and clowns. yes, i said legless trampoline dancer.
i took special care for you readers to note the entire set list, so you can listen to this at work and feel like you were really there.

aw....ceeyute!
