LOL.

look at the way alec baldwin speaks to his daughter on twitter!

(warning: you need a fairly developed understanding of twitter to make any sense of this, which i don't have. it took me too long to figure out what was going on here.)

happy booze cruise day!

a-ha - take on me

i just accidentally played this into my ears, as it is the first song on my ipod alphabetically, but while searching for something to change to, i began to really enjoy myself. i'm in a pretty good mood today because the weather is fucking perfect and i am going booze cruising tonight. jicyww.

oh, and speaking of williamsburg dining...

guess what opened this week: the meatball shop on bedford!

egg's expanding.

There's good news in the air for the devotees of Williamsburg's Egg, George Weld's farm-driven, Southern comfort food establishment on North 5th Street. For the past five months, Weld and his team have been renovating a new space just two blocks away at 109A N. 3rd, next to Mast Brothers Chocolate. Details are still hazy, but Weld says the new, "more relaxed" restaurant will "grow organically out of Egg," and better integrate their farm. Expect a focus on dinner service this time, along with a stronger emphasis on vegetables. Weld is still looking for some more funding, so there's no word on an opening date just yet. (via)
do not look directly AT the biscuit unless you're in the mood for a mouth full of saliva.

i see you in there, fig jam.

finally!

The fourth consecutive day of debt meetings between President Obama and congressional leaders ended with Obama "abruptly walking out of the meeting," according to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. "We are very far apart right now," Cantor told Fox News. "The progress we made seems to have been erased. [Obama] became very agitated and said 'Ronald Reagan wouldn't sit here. You either have to compromise on the dollar figure or the grand bargain.' He said, 'Don't call my bluff. I'm going to the American people on this.'" An aide who witnessed the walkout confirmed Obama's dramatic frustration. "I've reached my limit," said the president. "This may bring my presidency down, but I will not yield on this." (via)
duh-raaaah-maaaaa!! read everything. it's like an episode of gossip girl!

rilo kiley is officially dunzo

blake "salute your shorts" sennet has offically announced what we long suspected, and what i wished wasn't true: the band is over.

he also said some pretty ugly things:
"I just felt like there was a lot of deception, disloyalty, greed and things I don't really want to submit myself to. I had related that frustration to music but I just thought, 'I'm not going to put myself in that position again,' so I said, 'Fuck that, I can't do this anymore.'"

oh well, we can console ourselves with their existing music catalog, and with the promise of future jenny lewis solo project and collaborations. Also, there might be a new rilo kiley album of unreleased songs. via.
