the hunger games movie gets suzanne collins' SEAL of approval.

The weekend's dosage of Hunger Games hype came courtesy of series author Suzanne Collins, who heartily endorsed Gary Ross's Hollywood adaptation. "I’ve just had the opportunity to see the finished film of The Hunger Games," Collins wrote on Facebook. "I feel like the book and the film are individual yet complementary pieces that enhance one another. The film opens up the world beyond Katniss’ point of view, allowing the audience access to the happenings of places like the Hunger Games control room and President Snow’s rose garden, thereby adding a new dimension to the story." Cool! Also: "It’s amazing to see things that are suggested in the book fully developed and so brilliantly realized through the artistry of the designers." Even if the eye candy of The Hunger Games is on point and everything else sucks, the movie's basically a win. (via)

in preseason polls, the basketvols were picked to finish 11th in the SEC. they end the regular season as the number 2 seed in the SEC tournament, behind only the number one team in the nation, the KY jellycats. let's all raise a big middle finger to the haters.
