want to be a part of something?
join me in boycotting michael jackson's posthumous single, "this is it"!
it's easy. don't follow any links that have the words "this", "is", or "it" in them. if you see michael jackson anywhere on your screen, hit the nearest x (or red dot, for mac users).
good luck, everyone!

i ♥ sufjan stevens...no, seriously.
the new york times review of sufjan stevens' recent concert string :
"In his new songs, love leads him to improvisation, chaos and spasms of rhythm, all precisely dolloped out, as he takes yet another tangent away from whatever category briefly seemed to hold him."

a spade is a spade
in an interview with time magazine, anita dunn, white house communications director, said this about fox news channel, "it's opinion journalism masquerading as news..." time reports that michael clemente, head of news at FNC, responded with the sentiment that "white house criticism unfairly conflates the network's reporters and its pundits, like gelnn beck whom he likens to "the op-ed page of a newspaper."
that's a fallacious comparison give that newspapers don't headline their op-ed columnists in the way that fox news (and all cable news channels) gives top billing to their commentators. millions of people don't tune in to watch the short news briefs between FNC's programming; they tune in to watch those shit-eating-grin wearing commentators.

happy columbus day!!!
"As soon as I arrived in the Indies, on the first Island which I found, I took some of the natives by force in order that they might learn and might give me information of whatever there is in these parts."

just a quick word about saturday...
i'd say it's too early to shout "THE VOLS ARE BACK!!", as much as i may want to. but it's safe to say that we haven't seen them play like THAT in at least 2 years...if not longer. and i'm not exaggerating when i say that i was so ecstatic during the game that i cried twice. (see 1:12 of video for single tear #1) just a little. but it counts. i've never seen the vols smile that much, or seen the players dancing and singing rocky top on the field (see 4:05 aka cry-point #2). the crowd was in a state of delirious surprise, and i could feel it all the way in my living room. and the best part of course...was that it happened to georgia.
crompton looked fantastic, and i can only reason that he gave his all for tennessee for the first time (see 2:45) this weekend because of the relentless ridicule he's received from this blog and others. so you're welcome. let's hope everyone keeps it up in 2 weeks, when we play alabama, who may even be ranked #1 by then.
this video has it all. want to see a bulldog cry? just go to 4:33.
the end.
