i wonder
the times posed the question, what is your favorite new york night...
chris rovzar, one of the writers of my favorite blogarticles at nymag answered and puzzled me. he mentioned this song as being involved.... so i looked it up. do you all have memories of this group? dave are they still playing this on the radio over in the UK?
i guess i didnt listen to the radio in 1997.
brb outside : guggenheim
this weekend, bun-bun and i went to the guggenheim to see the frank lloyd wright retrospective.
i don't really have that much to say about it. it was pretty boring. except for the projects that involved taxicopters and or squid.
you might recognize that one.
i got in troubs taking this one. apparently you're not allowed to take any pictures at all. oops!
as i discussed with john, one of the more interesting aspects of the exhibit was seeing how the curators had to jump through the hoops of displaying FLW's work in his own ramped spiral exhibit space. they had a tough time! how ironic!
i did learn one interesting tidbit. i had no idea, but one of my fave movies, gattaca, was shot in and around frank lloyd wright's marin county civic center!
n-e-wayz, i'd give the exhibit 11 biscuits for content, but only 4 or 5 biscuits for fun. it's open through aug 23, so make up your own mind.

brb outside : booze cruise
joel's central park post reminded me that i forgot to tell you about something too! last thursday, we embarked on a booze cruise to benefit the leukemia & lymphoma society. 2Pz friend erin macbeth organized this outing, and i must say, she knows how to put the FUN in fundraising! here are some pics:
the mighty jewel, ready to set sail!
other boat, lucille, was a party full of jersey's finest (you're probs gonna want to click-to-enlarge that one). rob was confused about which boat he should get on.
lucille kept pooting. i bet it smelled just like jersey...
