my mind has been blown

today i was babysitting my cousins kenton and lainey and we went to go see Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D. i will never see another movie if its not in 3D. it made that much of an impact. this is the wave of the future (and the past apparently).

the movie was pretty cute too. reese witherspoon was the voice of the main character, and the supporting cast was very funny. seth rogen voiced this blob character who cracked me up, and there was a huge bug that didnt have any lines, but still stole the show.  im not sure who enjoyed it more, the children or me. Netflix it, or go see it in 3D while you still can... just find a child to take you.

poor beyonce

so....it's pretty much explained in the clip, but apparently sometimes beyonce doesnt sing live. from the howard stern radio show, here is the recorded "sound booth feed" of her today show performance. you hear what is actually coming out of her mouth and into the microphone, while the audience is hearing a pre-recorded track.

i think it's pretty clear that she could sing her a off whenever she wants to, she just doesn't want to. ok?

thx sj.

pirates!

there is a shitshow trial going on in new york right now for that one pirate who didn't get killed in that mess. they couldn't figure out definitively what his age was, so they just decided to try him as an adult.
he probably deserves it for being the scourge of the seas, but that photo of him all smiley when he is walking into court and the story about how he put his hand all the way up in the air when asked to raise his right hand makes me feel a twinge of sympathy. he is really just a teenager who will probably be better cared for in prison than he was able to provide for himself in the first place. god bless.

green news of the day

1) martha stewart just twittered about this little car, the Peapod!. no gas no emissions, all electric, lots of love. and it is smiling at us all too. this little car is intended to replace our favorite gas guzzlers on those short trips around the neighborhood that make up the majority of our driving.

2) new york city (the best city in the world) officials have proposed a group of laws and intiatives that would result in about $2.9 billion in investments in existing buildings to raise their standard of energy efficiency. they project that this would create about 2,000 jobs not including temporary construction jobs and would save the city about $750 million a year in energy costs. unfortunately for those of us without jobs, the program isnt expected to begin until 2013. just enough time for me to learn how to become an energy auditor
