jicydak, the venice biennale opened this week, featuring lots of hot new architecture. dezeen's covering it. here are some things i've seen that i like!
oma's collage-style renderings for their design for the fondaco dei tedeschi, near the rialto bridge, on the grand canal in venice.
the suspended blue foam model of venice in the dutch pavillion, by rietveld landscape.
the blueprint installation by suh architects (w/ artist do-ho suh), which turns a 1:1 reproduction of the artist's townhouse in new york to face a composite image of the townhouse facade, the artist's original home in korea, and a typical venetian villa facade.
