oh haiye.

pitchfork profiled lil' ol' knoxville's big ears festival:

Instead of putting the headliners in the Bijou, the biggest bands played the Tennessee Theatre, a Faberge egg of a place, with gilded walls and a ceiling that suggests staring into the heavens. In the end, all of these combinations and shifts made for an incredibly progressive yet accessible festival. In comfortable, affable Knoxville, far removed from the prior week's hustle and bustle of South by Southwest, Big Ears again felt like a long weekend of paradise-- and again a still must-attend, if very different than before, music festival.
