this is your guy

donnie tyndall is cuonzo martin's replacement as head men's basketvol coach at the university of tennessee. he came from southern miss where he was 56-17. here's what some sports writer said about him "Like [Bruce] Pearl, Tyndall has a larger-than-life personality capable of luring recruits and energizing a football-first fan base. Like Pearl, Tyndall won big in two lower-profile jobs before before making his major-conference debut at Tennessee. And like Pearl, Tyndall favors full-court pressure, though his teams have traditionally played at a much slower tempo than Pearl's Tennessee teams did."

grizzlies #1

17 September 2013

according to espn magazine the memphis grizzlies are the best franchise in all of professional sports

The rankings are based on eight categories, including fan feedback, which determines the best franchises for fans; bang-for-the-buck category, which tabulates wins during the past three years (regular season and postseason) per revenue directly from fans and affordability, which accounts for the price of tickets, parking and concessions. Other criteria include championships won or expected in the lifetime of current fans, stadium experience, fan relations, players, coaching, and ownership.

sports postz: irl zombie shoots hoops

This girl was in a coma for two and a half months. Occasionally her parents would sit her up and she could shoot a beach ball through a hula hoop. Now that she's recovered, she doesn't remember a thing about it. read more.

I want that t-shirt!

Jeremy Lin is a Knicks player that has got the basketball world buzzing. He's a 6'3 Harvard grad that has risen quickly out of obscurity to lead the Knicks to a 3-game win streak. In a season marred by a lock-out, tons of injuries, and lots of whining. Lin is a bright spot. The only american born chinese player in the league's postion with the Knicks was so tenuous that the guy didn't even rent an apartment in nyc, electing instead to crash on his brother's couch.

I'm a celtic's fan, but let's hear it for the underdogs. and names that are perfect for puns.

the grizzlies are the tits.

ESPN the magazine ranked all of the major league professional sports teams in their Ultimate Standings, and the Memphis Grizzlies came in 9th overall.

The overall ranking is based on how much the organization gives back to fans for the time, money and emotion invested in its product, determined by eight categories – bang for the buck, players, fan relations, affordability, stadium experience, ownership, title track and coaching.

Memphis was ranked No. 1 overall in the “bang for the buck” category, gauged by wins over the past two seasons per dollar contributed directly by fans (adjusted for differences in league schedules).

Among NBA teams, the Grizzlies trailed only the San Antonio Spurs (No. 5) and Oklahoma City Thunder (No. 6).

The Grizzlies, the second-highest jumper on the overall list this year, clawed 66 spots higher than last season’s edition, trailing only the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning, which moved from the No. 70 spot to the No. 2 position as the highest chart-climber in the Ultimate Standings.

Additionally, Memphis was rated the hottest team in sports in a separate survey by ESPN The Magazine, asking fans to rate recent changes in their commitment to their favorite team.

love the grizz.

fang fingerz!!!

the nashville predators won their first playoff series in franchise history last night at gaylord entertainment center sommet center bridgestone arena.

"It was a good play by Toots. He was driving to the net. I just came in late, and he created a lot of space and got the defense to follow," Spaling said. "The goalie was out of the net. I just shot it in."

that's my favorite line from the tennessean article

jicyww, the grizzlies have also made franchise history by winning a playoff game. in fact, they've won two and lead the spurs 2-1 in the series.
