see, joey? everyone's thinking it.
STATE COLLEGE, PA—Hospitalized after a receiver crashed into him on the field last Sunday, Joe Paterno’s return to practice Wednesday came as a vast relief to Penn State players, all of whom live in constant fear of being the one who inevitably kills the 84-year-old head coach.
“Every day we go to the field worried about which one of us will accidentally bump into Coach, cause his entire body to fall apart, and kill him,” senior defensive end Jack Crawford said. “There’s no doubt we are going to be the ones responsible for his death. That’s inevitable. It’s just a question of who and when."
“At this point, it’s part of the Happy Valley tradition," Crawford added. "No names on the jerseys, ringing the victory bell, and being very, very careful not to be the reason Coach Paterno dies." (via)i feel...something.

i'm ok, everyone!
A rush-hour accident inside the Lincoln Tunnel involving a motorcycle and four three commuter buses caused at least 15 people to be hospitalized and created substantial traffic delays Thursday morning, according to New York Fire Department and Port Authority officials.let that be a lesson to all of you. don't ride your motorcycle in the XBL. (that's eXclusive bus lane, jicdak)
The accident occurred around 7:25 a.m. in the Manhattan-bound center tube of Lincoln Tunnel. The motorcyclist, who suffered a broken femur and shoulder, ended up pinned underneath one of the buses, officials said.
Authorities were still piecing together what caused the accident. The collision happened in lanes that were dedicated for buses only, according to an official.
A total of 51 passengers on the buses — two NJ Transit buses and a Monsey Trails bus — were treated for injuries. Officials said 14 of the passengers were taken to Roosevelt Hospital. The motorcyclist was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
The accident shut down part of the Lincoln Tunnel and caused delays of about 90 minutes for those entering the city through the tunnel, officials said. New Jersey Transit bus service reported delays of up to 45 minutes to Port Authority but said buses were no longer being diverted away from the tunnel. (via)

The South Korean military went to “crisis status” on Tuesday and threatened military strikes after the North fired dozens of shells at a South Korean island, killing two of the South’s soldiers and setting off an exchange of fire in one of the most serious clashes between the two sides in decades. easy, now.
“I used to like ‘My Way,’ but after all the trouble, I stopped singing it,” he said. “You can get killed.”
The authorities do not know exactly how many people have been killed warbling “My Way” in karaoke bars over the years in the Philippines, or how many fatal fights it has fueled. But the news media have recorded at least half a dozen victims in the past decade and includes them in a subcategory of crime dubbed the “My Way Killings.”
The killings have produced urban legends about the song and left Filipinos groping for answers. Are the killings the natural byproduct of the country’s culture of violence, drinking and machismo? Or is there something inherently sinister in the song? (via)

smoke weed, talk shit like lane kiffin!
looks like the SEC is cracking down on coaches flappin' their traps after games:"On rare occasions over the last seven years there were several private reprimands and that took care of the matter," said Slive, in his eighth year as the SEC's leader. "On occasion there were public reprimands and that took care of it. It became clear to me after last week that I was no longer interested in reprimands and the conference athletic directors and university presidents unanimously agreed.
"For the foreseeable future there will be no reprimands," Slive added. "We will go right to suspensions and fines." (via)
careful, lane!
