trave-lin to toronto

i'm not generally an nba fan, but then a guy comes in and sets records while crashing on his brother's couch in nyc and changes everything. my favorite part of this video from last night's win is the toronto crowd's reaction to the game winning 3-pointer. there are a lot of asian's in toronto, and they are just as excited about this nerd as i am.

yale qb urpdate

In lots of the initial stories on Patrick Wit, the Yale QB who chose "The Game" over his Rhodes Scholarship finalist interview, it was reported that his coach also passed on the scholarship in order to pursue professional football. Turns out that might have been an overstatement...(gulp)

"Witt was unable to be reached for comment. He has refused to speak about his decision this week, releasing only a statement saying that he would withdraw the application and concentrate on the Harvard game.  He informed Rhodes officials of his decision last Sunday night, and it took them a bit by surprise.

“It is rare for someone to decline an interview,” Gerson said. “I cannot remember anyone else who has ever declined an interview for an athletic event."

*sigh*

champagne problems

Yale QB Patrick Witt found out last week that he was a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship. Great news right? WRONG. His interview is this weekend in Atlanta, but Witt is scheduled to play against Yale's arch-rival Harvard! Pop quiz hot shot, what do you do? what do you do?

Spoiler Alert: He's withdrawing his application so that he can focus on playing "The Game." yikes...

"For more than a century, Rhodes scholars have left Oxford with virtually any job available to them. For much of this time, they have overwhelmingly chosen paths in scholarship, teaching, writing, medicine, scientific research, law, the military and public service. They have reached the highest levels in virtually all fields." #justsayin'

Soooo, guess we'll see you at the game this weekend Patrick!
