curiosity descent

Using an editing technique known as interpolation, redittor God22 (aka Dominic Muller) has artificially boosted the framerate of Curiosity's descent footage from four frames per second to twenty five frames per second. Also known as "tweening" (short for Inbetweening), interpolation involves rendering missing frames artificially, to give the appearance of smooth transitions between actual frames. It's still playing in real-time, it just appears much, much smoother. (via)

obama said in a 60 minutes interview recorded today that he will not be releasing the dead-osama pixies. you can see his brain in them! eewwww!!

"The risks of release outweigh the benefits," he said. "Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway, and there is a real risk that releasing the photos will only serve to inflame public opinion in the Middle East."

"Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaida killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the internet," he continued. "Osama bin Laden is not a trophy - he is dead and let's now focus on continuing the fight until Al Qaida has been eliminated." (via)

karaoke adventures

after a rousing game of bingo across the street at mad donnas (more on that to come), we moseyed on over to the lipstick lounge and treated its patrons to our karaoke stylings.

our set list was as follows:

1)tina turner, proud mary (ike and tina version)

2)the pixies, here comes your man

3)alabama, dixieland delight

4)beyonce, halo

i know, right.

anyway, we averaged about 4 claps per song. this is the kind of nashville karaoke where they ask you what key you want to sing in... but luckily no one else wanted to perform so we got to go as often as we wanted. which was 4 times.
