glenn beck will hold a "restoring honor" rally this august 28th, on the steps of the lincoln memorial. i tried to figure out wtf this rally is for, but as with most thinks associated with glenn beck, it makes absolutely no sense. if you have a ton of free time, and like torturing yourself, perhaps you can find some answers in this rambling interview he posted on his website. i crapped out about two sentences in.

regardless of beck's motivations, you should be aware that august 28th, 1963 is the day martin luther king gave his "i have a dream" speech...on the steps of the lincoln memorial. that's right, glenn beck is totally hitching is racist-cracker wagon to MLK jr's preeminent speech on racial equality. this is going to be rich.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — A billboard at a New Zealand church depicting a downcast Joseph lying beside Mary in bed and the heading "God is a hard act to follow" provoked more than the intended reconsideration of the meaning of Christmas.

The sign was defaced by a paint-wielding vandal just hours after it was erected Thursday outside the St. Matthew-in-the-City Anglican church in Auckland, and triggered passionate and sometimes angry debate on talk radio and the Internet.
