new broken social scene

i listened to it on my way to work this morning, and i really liked it. but they're pretty much my favorite, so there wasn't really much chance of that not happening. it's fairly down-tempo, and they try some new things, but mostly its just what you'd expect. here are 2 of my faves so far:

2Pz favorite vol, eric berry, was drafted 5th last night to the kansas city cheifs. it's hard for me to think about watching him play wearing that horrific red color, but we couldn't be more proud of him.

in other tennessee football draft news, the titans picked derrick morgan from georgia tech. i don't know anything about him, but i welcome any player who spent his college career at the only school that hates georgia more than we do. unfortunately, this apparently means they're not going to get albert haynesworth and his F-650 back anymore. =(

some context:

funding for the copenhagen opera house, designed by jean nouvel, was donated by maersk, a danish shipping giant (biggest in the world, aamof). it later served as inspiration was straight-up copied for the nyc 2012 olympic stadium design (specifically the roof, obvi) by me and gabe back in architecture school. you're welcome!

beyonce movie rumors

rumor #1 : beyonce and russell crow will be the stars in an upcoming remake of A Star Is Born. the presumed beyonce role has been played in the past by judy garland and barbra streisand, so lady b has some big drunk shoes to fill

rumor #2 : beyonce is going to take the role of Ginger in an upcoming remake of Gilligan's Island. the movie star!
