washington dc : hollywood for ugly people

For some reason, nytimes magazine decided to spend a couple thousand words describing the social and professional comings and goings of a few of the young 20 somethings who work in DC. The life they lead sounds familiar, long hours, hard work, group living, themed keg parties, etc. The only thing that makes these kids special is that these lives are happening within the sphere of the Obama administration. Some began on the campaign trail, hauling luggage and performing other non-glamorous tasks, and have now been rewarded with other non-glamorous jobs in the White House.
they struggle with the same issues as other young professionals: how to get drunk in an age of foursquare, facebook, twitter, and nonstop work emails while maintaining your job and self respect. you dont have to work in the white house to relate to these feelings, but wouldnt it be cool to work in the white house.

kylie had nothing to do with this post.
