egg's expanding.
There's good news in the air for the devotees of Williamsburg's Egg, George Weld's farm-driven, Southern comfort food establishment on North 5th Street. For the past five months, Weld and his team have been renovating a new space just two blocks away at 109A N. 3rd, next to Mast Brothers Chocolate. Details are still hazy, but Weld says the new, "more relaxed" restaurant will "grow organically out of Egg," and better integrate their farm. Expect a focus on dinner service this time, along with a stronger emphasis on vegetables. Weld is still looking for some more funding, so there's no word on an opening date just yet. (via)do not look directly AT the biscuit unless you're in the mood for a mouth full of saliva.
i see you in there, fig jam.

welcome to SADE WEEK!!
remember sade? i know i do! john and i were treated to an all-sade brunch soundtrack at cafe luluc this weekend, and it reminded me how much i appreciate her music. today's selection is the obvious first choice, 'smooth operator', featuring one of my favorite things in the whole world: a saxophone solo.
enjoy this classic, and buckle up for the best week you've had since heart week.
