Harmony Korine teamed up with fashion brand Proenza Schouler (is that a Chloe reference or what?) to make this disturbing short film titled Snowballs. Lauren Santo Domingo used the phrase "crystal meth trailer park" to describe it, and while I didn't know who she was until a few seconds ago, I have to agree with her.
The film features clothing from the PS fall line which is inspired by Native American culture, specifically Navajo Textiles, and the warbonnets – a one-dimensional and racist flourish compared to the subtlety of the clothes – were added by Korine.
I think it's beautiful, but meaningless and weird as hell. Also, that squeaky little voice is really grating.

chloe clears things up

SEVIGNY: So, for the record, I want to get the
pronunciation of Proenza Schouler down right.
McCOLLOUGH: It's Proenza Schouler. So many people still say Shooler.
SEVIGNY: It's Schouler, as in late for school. I think people think Shooler is more sophisticated that Skooler.

proenza schouler :: "act da fool" by harmony korine
i used to call my dad st. nick cuz he fat as hell and he always walkin around with a red hat on.
some people on the internet think that this promotional film for proenza schouler is racist because of its portrayal of "black stereotypes." i am not one of the people that think this. i think that this little film by the guy that made gummo shows poverty, and recontextualizes these girls that live in poverty to show their beauty and power. nothing racist about that.

dammit, i thought these two were platonic. rats.
the cuties behind proenza schouler dished to nymag about a rustic country home they have been improving in their off time. sounds depressingly perfect and terribly sexy. They’re also working on the property’s circa-1790s house, which he says is in fairly original condition. “It’s great. We like it old; we’re kind of like restoring it as opposed to remodeling it. We’re taking it back to its original form.” Decorating, Hernandez noted, giggling, is not as butch. “That’s not the manly part. We like a little bit of both.” While the architecture is old, he says the interiors will be more like their life, a mix of things. “It’s not going to be a period piece.”
A little more prodding brought more shocking revelations. Like, they have livestock! Cows, goats, sheep, and chickens! There are also horses, but those belong to other people. “It’s fun, you know,” Hernandez said. “It’s a nice balance to the city life.” The designers also have two dogs, Jojo and Buster, a Newfoundland and a Doberman. But a fashion person can only talk livestock for so long. “I’m oversharing!” he said, and clammed up.

Kiefer Sutherland vs Jack McCollough

this is weird. i didnt post much about the met gala last night because i figured if you were really interested, you already knew where to look to find coverage... and kylie had already hit the highlights.
but apparently the party doesnt end after people leave the museum, and one of the weirder stories from last night doesnt involve madonna's bunny ears, but a brawl at the submercer afterparty involving jack bauer vs proenza schouler. according to reports, kiefer head butted jack in the face and broke his nose. the fight had something to do with brooke shields?
very strange. dlisted best expressed the confusion: "Kiefer has a girlfriend. Brooke is married. Jack is gay. How did this happen!?" my guess is that jack bauer mistook jack mccullough for tony almeida
