REMINDER: its this thursday! sign up or show up or both!
just wanted to remind you all about a little event coming up called light the night. i know what you're thinking, but you're wrong. this one is really fun, because you get to walk over the brooklyn bridge with flashlight balloons! and it ends in world-famous brooklyn heights, which is where i live. and did i mention tina fey will be hosting the event? tina FEY!
as many of you know, our beloved 2Pz correspondent, bun-bun, was diagnosed with leukemia back in 2007. these days, thanks to the wonderful care he's received as a result of the research funded by events like this one, he's feeling healthy and doing just great.
this year's new york event takes place on the evening of thursday, october 14th. i encourage all of our readers in the nyc area to join us. i'm not saying it's mandatory, but only because i shouldn't have to. visit rob's team page, and just sign up! then you'll be ripe to receive a few obnoxious emails, within which the tiny amount of information you actually need will be buried.
what's that? you don't live in new york? well, that's just ridiculous. but hopefully, you live in knoxville. this way, you can walk with rob's other team, led by his mom, ellen. she's a real delight, so don't be shy about joining her.
and, obvi, if you can't be there for the walk, go to rob's page anyway, and make it rain a few dollhairs all over kancer's face.
no matter how you choose to proceed, bear in mind that i'll be watching you, and so will tina fey. if you have any questions, ask rob, not me. can't wait to see you all there! k bye!

not surprising.
did you guys hear what teabagging new york gubernatorial candidate carl paladino said yesterday, while speaking to a group of orthodox jews in williamsburg, of all places?
"There is nothing to be proud of in being a dysfunctional homosexual. That's not how god created us, and that's not the example that we should be showing our children. Children would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family than being gay. And I don't want them brainwashed into thinking homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option - it isn't." (via)brainwashed! well, he's just looking out for the success of your children. so. oh, and one more thing:
Paladino also told the largely Hasidic Jewish audience that he supports a program to provide tax breaks to people whose children attend private or religious schools. Paladino said he believes there's a way to structure the program so it doesn't violate the separation of church and state and can withstand legal challenges. (via)what a pander bear!

tennessee (2-3) vs georgia (1-4)

i hope, nay i know that the vols are going to wipe the floor with the bulldogs, but i was wondering what a lot of people were wondering: who is vince dooley rooting for?
"They've got these high-tech cameras, I don't care where you are, they'll find you. But they're not going to find me. I'm going to be in my den watching the game. I'll be pulling for my son. I'm not going to go pull for my son in Sanford Stadium. Family first."
VOLS first. you heard it here.
