terrible news for jonas brothers fans (me)

they cancelled their tour and might not be brothers anymore! well i guess they will always be brothers but they won't be "the jonas brothers" and im guessing that thanksgiving is going to be pretty awkward. according to people magazine, according to the new york times, a group spokesman described “a deep rift within the band” and “a big disagreement over their musical direction.”

good pizza friday: pizza prince

 a new pizza place opened on nassau in beautiful greenpoint, brooklyn. 

i had the chicken and broccoli even though thomas wilhelm told me that i'd die if i ate it.

 i should have taken his advice. it would rate it 7 biscuits tops.

nerd alert: time capsule

The MTA is shutting down the 7 train at Court Square for construction on Saturday. The stop is integral for both my and keekers commute.  I have thought and said some pretty hateful things about the MTA since I heard the news. Two days ago however, I received a sort of going away present. They have stripped the maps and adverts off the walls of the platform to reveal remnants of the days when graffiti writers wrote with relative impunity. When the MTA put up the maps and advertising boards, they didn't bother to paint over what was there, leaving these tags in a time capsule to be opened two decades later. As I was shooting these photos a train came into these station and the conductor called out to me, "That really is a blast from the past!"

do i have to get a new haircut now :(

blake "salute your shorts" sennet has offically announced what we long suspected, and what i wished wasn't true: the band is over.

he also said some pretty ugly things:
"I just felt like there was a lot of deception, disloyalty, greed and things I don't really want to submit myself to. I had related that frustration to music but I just thought, 'I'm not going to put myself in that position again,' so I said, 'Fuck that, I can't do this anymore.'"

david archuleta, one of my favorite american idols, was just dropped from his label. apprently his 2010 album, the other side of down, only sold 67,000 copies and that just isn't good enough. me thinks he needs to ditch his crazy mormon father/ manager and reinvent himself as the next mandy moore.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee starting wide receiver Gerald Jones has a broken bone in his left hand and could miss at least two or three games.

That would keep out the Volunteers' leading receiver from the past two seasons for games against No. 11 Oregon, No. 4 Florida and UAB.

Jones, who is a senior, led Tennessee (1-0) in a 50-0 win over Tennessee-Martin on Saturday with 86 yards on six catches. He left the field clutching his left hand midway through the third quarter after catching a 37-yard pass from Matt Simms, his longest reception of the game.

Dooley also says wide receiver Denarius Moore is questionable for Oregon on Saturday after suffering a "banged-up ankle," and offensive guard Jerrod Shaw is questionable with a right ankle injury. (via)
