you know how i love walking around at night peepin' up in people's houses.

02 January 2014

well, this is refreshing.

Several of the homes constructed for Hurricane Katrina victims by Brad Pitt’s Make It Right charity are rotting from the inside out, according to the New Orleans Advocate.
The charity used glass-infused wood that’s supposed to be green-friendly. But the material has struggled with moisture — a big problem for homes in a flood zone. The wood is going to be replaced, and Make It Right, which has also helped to rebuild storm-ravaged homes in the Rockaways, is considering legal action. (via)
glad to see brad's getting the full architect experience he never wanted.

Paul William "Bear" Bryant is Spinning in His Grave!

This is some week-old news, but it seems when Bama fans aren't destroying public property, Bama alumni are sexually assaulting unconscious strangers in public.  I can't say I'm surprised.  This quote from CBS 42 in Birmingham sums up the incident using an excellent choice of words [emphasis mine]:
It all stems from a video that went viral showing [Brian] Downing and friends abusing a passed out LSU fan in a burger restaurant on Bourbon Street after the BCS game. Downing's companions performed a series of pranks on the passed out LSU fan and then the man identified now as Downing proceeded to drape his scrotum on the man's head...that led to the sexual battery and obscenity charges.
Here's the NSFW video:

CBS 42 also gives us some insight into who Downing is:
So who is Brian Downing and how did he find himself with both notoriety and a possible lifetime designation as a sex offender? He's married with a wife, a (sic) child. He's already been fired from his job with Hibbett Sports. And he has a second cousin who’s the sheriff of Russell County...Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor recognized his cousin in the video and told him to come on down to the county jail. After checking with New Orleans police, Downing drove to New Orleans to turn himself in.
Fun Fact : Deadspin is reporting that one of the other "gentlemen" in the video is the son of the sports director at the CBS affiliate in Mobile.  So there's something to be proud of all around.

If you want more details on this story, Deadspin has plenty of thorough coverage.

I said it once, and I'll say it again; it's time to DIG HIM UP...F HIS CORPSE!

29 April 2010

get it together, BP!!

today, it's been announced via press conference that that oil is leaking 5 times faster than originally estimated. they have discovered 2 new leaks. and it could touch louisiana (and its wildlife) as soon as tomorrow night!!

somebody needs to get down there and FEEYAUX IT!!

28 April 2010

jicydak

a big ol' oil rig off the coast of louisiana exploded, caught fire, and sank last week, killing like 11 people.

also, they can't turn off the faucet on the sea floor, and it is just pouring crude oil into the gulf of mexico.

now, they're thinking about setting fire to the oil to save the shoreline. that would be so crazy!

sissy bounce.

You do not need to spend much time in New Orleans to realize that it occupies a unique position within the pantheon of American cities. As different from similar-sized towns like Pittsburgh as a coyote is from a mound of cottage cheese, the Big Easy is wholly it’s own scrappy, disheveled self (and I mean that as a compliment). So when, during the start of my six-month sojourn here, a friend took me to see my first Bounce show—a local form of hip-hop characterized by a machine gun-beat and na-asty lyrics—it was not that surprising that it featured openly gay artists toasting about big dicks, butts, and lots of oral. Thus began my indoctrination into the church of what folks refer to locally, but not derogatorily, as Sissy Bounce. (via)
