Mad Men Action Figures

Can I borrow SEVENTY FIVE dollhairs (wink) to get a Mad Men doll. I have a lot of re-enacting to do.

Pete Campbell: A man like you I'd follow into combat blindfolded, and I wouldn't be the first. Am I right, buddy?
Don Draper: Let's take it a little slower. I don't want to wake up pregnant.

ZING!

how interesting.

here's a little insight into how house of cards is shot.

Almost every single frame of this show is composed to place a pale blue object in the foreground with a pale yellow light in the background. Now, sometimes the foreground object is more black than blue, sometimes the background veers toward a sickly green, sometimes they're outside and the background is necessarily blue or black sky, but once you begin noticing this particular habit of the House of Cards color pallete, it is hard to unsee. (via)

here's a podcast interview with the show's cinematographer.

on a related note, here's a list of ten films matthew weiner made required viewing for the cast & crew of mad men. jicydak, there's a big mad men exhibition opening march 14 at the museum of the moving image (shoutout flim).

mad men season 4 preview!

july 25th! (via)

thx joey! (not you, joey tony. just shut up, ok?)

this is awesome.

one of the most fun things about mad men is anticipating what historic event will impact the story next. this NYT interactive graphic catalogs important events of the 1960's (including old-timey newspapaer articles) and how they were protrayed on the show, as well as milestones to come leading into the 70's. cool!

the new season premieres on sUnDaY!!!

zoo be zoo be zoo

sophia loren is one of my favorites. mad men is back!

Tom Ford

in the newest issue of the Advocate, Tom Ford discusses Yves St. Laurent (a femmy bitch), his feature film directorial debut A Single Man (nothing to do with Mad Men), blow jobs (in the back of cabs), and gay marriage (stupid semantics).

this guy is cool

mad men, season 6

premiering april 17. ;(

"youre probably all too young to watch mad men, so enjoy the hunger games"

jon hamm has an advice video blog for teenage girls. ctm.

i'm sorry, michael k...

...but true blood is one of, if not THE worst show on television. the writing, dialogue, and acting is atrocious, and their laughable attempts at southern accents make my skin crawl. the show doesn't deserve the millions of viewers it has collected, let alone an aWaRd!

at any rate, congrats to excellent shows 30 rock, the office, big love, dexter, mad men, kathy griffin, antiques roadshow, etc. for your well-deserved emmy nominations!

sookie!

inevitable

but annoying...

Reportedly, Hulu will start its for-pay model slowly, charging just for episodes of 30 Rock, House, and Modern Family. Now, these shows are on network television: NBC, FOX and ABC, respectively. In other words, these programs are free to watch anyway (assuming the presence of a television set), even for people who don't pay for cable service.

Another proposed plan would allow Hulu users to watch the five most recent episodes of a program but require a monthly subscription (at $4.99 a pop) to watch older episodes. Hulu executives recognize that in order to make subscriptions attractive, they would need to offer at least 20 TV series in their entirely. Five bucks per month is much cheaper than a cable bill, for people who want to get their fill of basic-cable fare (Mad Men! Damages!) over their laptops.

big mistake.

everyone's favorite mad men character, sal romano, is off the show.

forever. (don't click that, joel. spoiler alertz retroactive)

uuuuugggggghhhh im so angry!!

oh, the emmys were last night?

i had no idea. i guess mad men and modern family won everything. good job, guys.

sesame street mad men

mad men + feminism

sorry, flim. this would've made for a GREAT fwf...

did you watch mad men?

ugh.

well, you've probably heard that pretty cool fred armisen and totes awesome elisabeth moss are getting divorced. what you may not have heard is that he is dating a 23 year old, unfunny abby elliott.

you just lost some points, fred. i don't know if you've seen mad men or girl interrupted, but this is a total downgrade. ;( no worries though, peggy's got a new boyfriend already.

"what do you have against new jersey?"
"unfortunately, a southern border."
