"According to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, the "bump" that former coach Bruce Pearl and associate head coach Tony Jones had with Oak Hill Academy (Va.) 2012 recruit Jordan Adams on Sept. 14, 2010, will be refuted by the two coaches during their testimony.
According to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, the "bump" that former coach Bruce Pearl and associate head coach Tony Jones had with Oak Hill Academy (Va.) 2012 recruit Jordan Adams on Sept. 14, 2010, will be refuted by the two coaches during their testimony. According to sources, Tennessee initially kept Pearl (while docking his pay, terminating his contract and taking him off the road) because he admitted that he made a mistake. But the "bump" being billed as a major violation and coming so soon after the first news conference and just 10 days before his one-year off-campus recruiting ban was set to begin, set in motion his dismissal."

in response to attorney general eric holder jokingly demanding that the wire's creators produce another season of the show, david simon responded:
The Attorney-General's kind remarks are noted and appreciated. I've spoken to Ed Burns and we are prepared to go to work on season six ofThe Wire if the Department of Justice is equally ready to reconsider and address its continuing prosecution of our misguided, destructive and dehumanising drug prohibition. this is what happens when a black eyed peas / taylor swift concert in central park gets cancelled due to weather, and 60,000 people bought tickets.

your fortnightly boat.
For decades, dozens of forgotten Navy and merchant ships have been corroding in Suisun Bay, 30 miles northeast of San Francisco. These historic vessels—the Mothball Fleet—served their country in four wars: WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and Desert Storm. After a decade of impasse, the ghost fleet is slowly dwindling as the ships are towed out one-by-one for scrapping. About 15 retired ships are already gone; by 2017, the entire fleet will be just a memory. (via)
